We are EXTREMELY excited about a new little life on the way! I am about 16 weeks and we find out the gender Feb 8th! This little princess (seated above) is so very excited :) She will be the best big sister, hands down. This one has been pretty rough on me, meaning... I have been sick, sick, and more sick. But, I am so thankful to be able to nurture another little miracle! Sorry I have not blogged since September... YIKES! But, I plan on making it a priority to sit and upload pictures soon! This news was just to exciting to wait any longer!

Remembering...

Today, is a day of remembrance. Ten years ago, many of us watched and listened as planes flew into the world trade centers and changed not only our nation, but our lives forever. Our husbands, wife's, fathers, mothers, grandparents and friends were all a part of this tragic day. Some went to be with our Father in heaven, others chose to not hear, and some were given second chances that only God can give. Yes, today is a day of remembering all those who are not with us anymore, and all those brave souls who risked their lives for another. Take a moment out of this beautiful day and say a prayer for our nation, and those families who still grieve and mourn the loss of their loved ones. Pray for all of us who still remain to open our ears and eyes to what the Lord is trying to tell us. May we be the disciples He has called us to be and the witnesses our country so desperately needs. Here is an e-mail that just brought me to tears. Feel free to pass it along! God bless the families from September 11, 2001 and God bless our country.

'MEET ME IN THE STAIRWELL'

You say you will never forget where you were when you heard the news on September 11, 2001. Neither will I.

I was on the 110th floor in a smoke filled room with a man who called his wife to say 'Good-Bye.' I held his fingers steady as he dialed. I gave him the peace to say, 'Honey, I am not going to make it, but it is OK... I am ready to go.'

I was with his wife when he called as she fed breakfast to their children. I held her up as she realized he wasn't coming home that night.

I was on the stairwell of the 23rd floor when a woman cried out to Me for help. 'I have been knocking on the door of her heart for years!' I said, 'Of course I will show you the way home - only believe in Me now.'

I was at the base of the building with the priest ministering to the injured and devastated souls, I took him home to tend to his Flock in Heaven. He heard my voice and answered.

I was on all four of those planes, in every seat, with every prayer. I was with the crew as they were overtaken. I was in the very hearts of the believers there, comforting and assuring them that their faith has saved them.

I was in Texas, Virginia, California, Michigan, and Afghanistan. I was standing next to you when you heard the terrible news. Did you sense me?

I want you to know that I saw every face. I knew every name - though not all knew Me. Some met Me for the first time on the 86th floor.

Some sought me with their last breath. Some couldn't hear Me calling to them through the smoke and flames; 'Come to Me... this way... take my hand.' Some chose, for the final time to ignore Me. But, I was there.

I did not place you in the Tower that day. You may not know why, but I do. However, If you were there in that explosive moment in time, would you have reached for Me?

September 11, 2001, was not the end of the journey for you. But someday your journey will end. And I will be there for you as well. Seek Me now while I may be found. Then, at any moment, you will know you are ready to go.

I will be there, waiting for you, in the stairwell of your final moments.

Lewis decided to get Jane Kimmel an early Christmas present... and she LOVES it! I think more so because it is pink, but it makes me smile so big watching them together. It is a little hard for her to pull back right now, but Lew said "well, we'll just have to strengthen that right arm." I quickly reminded him that she is just 3 and she still had some time to learn :) I am just glad she showed interest in it, now lets hope that interest will still be there in a few months! Practice starts soon, so stay tuned to "bow hunting with the Buford's."

The calm before the storm

Before the start of a new school year and all the responsibilities to go along with it, we packed up and headed out to orange beach for a full week! We did absolutely nothing and it was wonderful! Of course, it flew by and those long days of laying by the kiddie pool or lounging in a chair with a book in hand all came to an abrupt end. My best friend Katie went with us! She is one of those friends that will drop whatever she is doing and just load up for a road trip and enjoy every minute of it. I love her dearly and am so thankful and blessed to have her ;) Jane Kimmel had a blast! She enjoyed playing and building sand castles on the beach, as well as making friends in the kiddie pool. She actually got a tan too, haha! Lewis joined us on Friday afternoon, and although we had to leave the next morning, it was nice to share a day with him at the beach. I did not take many pictures, because I was tormented at the thought of sand getting on my camera, but I did get a few! On a side note, school starts on Wednesday and I am excited about getting back into a routine and it being my last semester, but nervous about what is to come. Patience and perseverance have been at the top of my prayer list, so if you get around to thinking about it... send one up for me! Continue to pray for Lewis as well. We miss him very much and are ready to be back together as a family! Enjoy the pics from our wonderful vaca... it was heavenly :)

Sweet Jane Kimmel turned 3 on June 19th and I can't believe it! We had an "owl" themed birthday party and rented a big water slide for all the kids to play on! I must say... fun was had by all! It was really hot, but it was so nice to be outside with family and friends all coming together for the most precious joy in our lives! Jane Kimmel is no longer a baby, nor would I consider her a toddler... but a "child." Doesn't that sound old??? She is pure bliss and I could not imagine one day of this life without her. She is so funny and is such a little diva. Her personality is the cutest thing to watch and sometimes a little overwhelming (especially for her daddy:), but she truly is the sweetest thing. She gets along with her friends and classmates so well, and acts like a little momma to all her babies, animals, or imaginary friends. She will be the best big sister one day, and I cherish these days we have with her. Her little innocence just melts my heart and I love her more than words can ever say. Thanks be to God for this precious gift! Love you baby girl!

Hello blog world! It has been a while! It is nice to be back and I'm excited and eager to share a lot of news with you!

FIRST:

Lewis graduated from MSU in May and got an awesome job with MONSANTO! Thank you Lord! It's not everyday, especially these days, that graduates have a job already lined up for them right after college! This was not part of "our plan" but it is evident that it was the Lords plan... and for that we are grateful. Now, brace yourself. Lewis has moved to Dothan, AL where he will be in training for his new job for the next 3 to 6 months. Yeah, so you can imagine what a struggle it has been lately for our little family and how much Jane Kimmel and I miss him. We are getting to see each other twice a month on the weekends though, which is better than nothing. For those of you who don't know, Dothan is about 5 hours from here...whew, but so worth the drive. He has been traveling (flying everywhere) a lot and he is slowly but surely adjusting to this new way of life. After the training is over, he will be relocated some where totally different for his permanent territory. We are excited, thankful, and blessed that Lewis got this job and are so proud of him! We love you Lew.

Second:

I went to Honduras on a mission trip May 30th and returned June 6th. It was my third mission trip and another one of those that truly touched my heart. Honduras is surrounded by God's amazing beauty and will forever hold a special place in my heart. There is so much poverty there and sadness that you see and experience, but I was reminded multiple times of how blessed we are. Words can not describe the precious faces of the children and what their day-to-day life consist of. It was so hard to fathom that "this is real" and people really do live like this. But, through it all, the world is just as it should be. God knows what he is doing and has a special plan laid out for each and every one of them. I loved every minute of it and will be returning in the future for sure!

Third:

I will be graduating in December! Can I get a hallelujah! I am so ready, but will miss MSU and Starkville soooooo much. I love everything about this town. I came here wearing maroon and white and I'm leaving bleeding it! But, I have my work cut out for me these next 6 to 8 months. I am now taking 3 classes of summer school followed by 3 in the Fall with a 240 hour Internship pilled on top and will be "single-parenting it" while Lewis is still training in AL. But, I am doing it baby! 3 1/2 years and I'm still going... thank you Lord for perseverance! After December, I plan to take a year off before applying to Occupational Therapy school and work in a clinic or hospital for some experience and who knows, maybe even have a new little one being added to the family ;)! Be praying for us!

And Finally:

Jane Kimmel is doing wonderful! She is so smart, funny, talkative, independent and such a diva! I mean, she changes cloths 20 times a day and is always wearing some high heel shoes! She is taking ISR swim lessons, gymnastics, and dance! She loves all of them but the swimming lessons. We are getting used to them day by day and does amazing swimming under water, but it is the floating that she hates. But, I figure it's only the second week at em and we have 4 more to go... so she is bound to like em at one point or the other right? Anyway, this week she is doing VBS at church and is lovin it! She is growing up way to fast and will be celebrating her 3rd birthday on the 18th! She is so excited :)

So, for a recap... We have been to the beach, Alabama, Honduras, Jackson, Greenwood and are headed to South Carolina in July! what can I say, we love summertime! I hope y'all are enjoying the summer as well!

Overwhelmed

WOW... where should I start? I can't even begin to tell you the life changing events that have taken place in our family for the last 3 weeks. Much has happened! Good, bad, exciting, tearful, confused, worried, blessed and stressed (<--- he follows me everywhere). I just wanted to inform you all that we are still alive and going at full force. Did I mention it's exam week.... yes, exam week--- I'm holding on for dear life! Whew... anyway, I will be back in touch with reality as soon as Friday is over and I will update with stories, life, and pictures (haha who would have thought? I take way too many). I hope y'all are having a good week and Happy Hump Day!!!!

Palm Sunday

In preparation for Easter, Jane Kimmel and I have been reading "The Easter Story." I love her little questions that she asks and the excitement in her eyes when it reads... "Jesus is ALIVE!" We discussed how at church on Sunday, she would get to wave her palm tree for Jesus to ride in on a donkey! She said, "momma, we get to see Jesus today?!" and I said no baby, not today... but very soon!

As we celebrated Palm Sunday at church today, the children walked down the aisle and waved their palm branches. They were all so precious and waved them so proudly :) I began to think about how much I yearn for Jane Kimmel to understand the importance of Easter, and how much I want her to grow into a child after the Lord's own heart.... Today, yes today, was a special and heart warming day. Here are sweet pictures (or should I say snap shots, since it lasted about 5 seconds:)

I encourage each of you to prepare your hearts and minds for this upcoming week. Remember that Easter is not just another holiday, a pretty dress, or a good meal after church... But, it is the passing and rising of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! It is the assurance of eternal life if you are a child of God. It is about every drop of blood that Jesus shed for you, every nail driven into his flesh, and every ounce of agony and pain that he went through for me and you. It is about the empty tomb and Jesus rising from the dead... He is ALIVE my friends, he is alive!

Sadly our "Gospel in Life" bible study ended tonight... tear. What an AWESOME group we had this semester. Lewis and I loved getting to know each and every one of these amazing people and grew even more together as a community of believers. God is so good :) I will be honest and say this has been the most challenging bible study I have done so far. You know, it was one of those that picked at your brain, and then made it hurt afterwards. Anyway, we ended tonight with a fun pot luck gathering and said our goodbyes until we see each other again on Sunday, ha! The Lord has really blessed our time together and we are so thankful for each and every one of these people in this picture. I know one day, when I look back at all our fond memories of Starkville, this bible study group will forever hold a special place in my heart. Gosh, I love you guys and thanks for some wonderful discussions, friendships, and laughs that we had along the way!

I would like to think of this picture as "walking with the Lord..." It's a never ending path of grace and roaring challenges. Each step I take with my bare feet, more blossoms begin to bloom and sweet smells of lavender and honey fill my nostrils. The sun is warming my face and and a light breeze is blowing. There are overwhelming sounds of voices coming from every direction, but yet a soft voice that says "Be still and know that I am God." With it, peace and understanding fill me and I begin to dig my toes into the thick, moist grass as I inhale a sweet breath of life. Ahhh... How Great Thou Art! Happy Monday Readers :)

I'm sure all of us have heard the phrase "it's not all candy canes and lolly pops." Well, the past few weeks, and most of the time, I'm asked the question... "How do you do it? How do y'all keep it all together? Are you superwoman or something?" Let me be the first to scream it... "I AM NOT SUPERWOMAN, AND WE DO NOT HAVE IT ALL TOGETHER." Whew, now that I got that off my chest, I just wanted to share with you devoted readers that it may seem like we have it all together on the outside, but we don't! We struggle with lots of things in our lives and jump/leap over obstacles when they are coming at us head on. We are sinners, just like everyone on this earth and fall short of God's glory every.single.day. Yes, it's hard doing all the stuff Lewis and I do and to top it off being so young while doing it. It's a struggle trying to live up to our own expectations we have for ourselves and especially this "idol" of success that has been hanging around my neck lately, like it owns me or something??? I'm flattered to know that people think we have it all together, but it makes me laugh... pretty hard. Boy, if they only knew what our days and nights consisted of. But, through this crazy thing we call life, I am overwhelmed and on my knees thanking My King for his unconditional love. Sometimes I think to myself "hum, I wonder if your tired of me yet?" But, that is God's Grace people! No matter how many times we fall, He is there to pick us right back up. He knows when we don't have it all together and yearns for us to talk to him about it. Kinda like a best friend, ya know? I am just so thankful for the many blessings that he has given us, even though we are not worthy of a single one. Wow, that's the best dang news I have heard on this heck of a Thursday that I'm having thus far. Now, just come as you are ;) Have a good Weekend!

Still Going Strong

Today is Our 3 year Wedding Anniversary! My O my, where has the time gone? I wish I could document every. single. moment. of this marriage in some type of scrapbook or mental photograph that I won't be able to forget, but I think that is where "enjoying the small things" in life fit right in. In Romans 12:10, Paul encourages us to "Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other." As this clock continually clicks the seconds away until we become grandparents and grow old together, I find myself falling more in love with the boy I have been with for the past eight years. Why? Because, he knows me better than anyone on this earth. He knows every flaw, every weakness, and every stubborn attempt to get my way when I want it. But, he still loves me anyway. We've grown so much together in Christ, our marriage, and in the raising of a blessed child. How wonderful and beautiful God's plan was and is for us. I cherish the little things in our marriage that make us who we are as one and who we are as parents. My love for him continues to grow and I look to the future with a smile on my face and warmth in my heart knowing I get to spend it with him. I love you Lewis and Happy Anniversary!

Just dinner for 3 at the house and a good red box movie is what is on the agenda for the night :). O, how I LOVE Valentines Day. Playtime with Ole Dada

Haha, I just have to start off laughing on this post and you'll see why in a minute. Usually, once every semester, Lew and I sit down to "talk" about our plans, activities, so forth and so forth that we have for the upcoming months. This particular one included scheduling more daddy daughter things with Jane Kimmel (since he had been so busy/gone for the past few months guiding hunters). They have been doing so much fun and sweet stuff lately, I had to blog about it. From "PINK" donuts to building tents, or in Jane Kimmel's words.. "Dada, it's a castle... not a tent" they have really been some kind of funny lately. Here are just a few pics :)

Above, is what JK and I walked into after school one day... Dada did a good job!

(might I add, you can't walk around this humongous tent/castle but they have a good time in it)

Below was the original tent that was built. It was much easier to maneuver around, but I 'll have to agree with Lewis... It's just not a "realistic" castle ;)

The Month of January

Wow... where has January gone? It has been busy around the Buford house the past month. School started back, and Lewis was gone every weekend (and some week days too) guiding duck hunters in Greenwood. Here is what we have been up to!!!

A "NEW" Gym Outfit

The story is... Mrs. Dawn (our really sweet neighbor) kept JK one night. She came home with this outfit that we CAN NOT keep off of her! It was Mrs. Dawn's daughter's gymnastics outfit when she was little :) We are "working" on returning it! Does she love it or what?!?

NEW COUCHES

These were GIVEN to us by Lewis's dad (Bubba)! Yes, given!!! I have been in love with these things forever, and he was generous enough to call me up one day to tell me he was giving them to us!! I was ECSTATIC... and still am! Lewis thinks I'm a little too overjoyed... guess it's a "girl" thing, right ladies??

PROJECTS

Making a lamp out of a McCarty vase!!!

I got this little beauty for Christmas from KT's (my sister-n-law) boyfriend, Daniel!

Lew drilling the whole in the vase, so the cord could come out the back. It took forever, but we FINALLY got it through!

As soon as the lamp is finished, it will go in this spot on Lew's desk! (hopefully the extra lighting will encourage him to do a little more studying/homework) keep your finger's crossed... :)

The BIG... 21!

There are not many words for this jolly ole night besides... "It was a once and a lifetime experience!" We started the night off at the Delta Bistro for dinner. Lewis's whole family came and we had a blast!! (So thankful for yall). We then made our way to Websters, where we met up with some of my dearest friends to celebrate!! From then on, the rest was history. I will say this though, I felt like I should have been legal a LONG time ago. I mean being married... raising a 2 year old... working... being a full time student... and all the worries/responsibilities that come along with it, Whew... Turning 21 was EASY :)

A MERRY Little Christmas

Ahhh... Christmas was everything we could have hoped for and more this year. We spent most of our time in Greenwood with Lewis's family and mine. We then made our way to Bell's Tennessee to spend time with the Woodson's, then headed to Tupelo to see my Mom's side of the family. All in all, we had 5... yes, 5 family Christmas's! Below are a few pictures out of the 1,000 that were taken with my "NEW" camera!!! We had a blast and are so extremely blessed and thankful for our AMAZING families! We would not be where we are today without all of yall's support, blessings, love, and joy.

A New Love

So, I am one of those people who L-O-V-E to mix my cereal together. If you have not tried it, I think it's a good time to start :) My new obsession is mixing a 1/2 a cup of all three cereals below! It is AMAZING! To top it off, I throw in some "fresh" blueberries, or cut up some "fresh" strawberries. It's a great way to start off your morning! Try it, and you can thank me later :)

A Few weeks ago, GG took us to Disney Princess's on Ice! We had a ball! We then went to Jackson for a family gathering and got to go again with Aunt Edra, Leslie, and Grace! Jane Kimmel was so excited and loved all the Disney characters and princesses. If you have not gone.... GO! It is amazing and so entertaining! But, FYI: you might want to pack a little brown bag dinner... the prices are insane. Do they not know we are in a recession???? whew... thank goodness for GG and Aunt Edra :)

Praise, Praise, Praise the Lord for the blessing of LIFE. My favorite moments with my now "2 going on 10" toddler are when she first awakens after a long night of dreaming about Cinderella and prince charming. Her hair is in tangles and her eyes can barley open from the light streaming in from the den. She stretches her little body across the bed and makes that sweet little "to die for smile" from when she was an infant and had just finished nursing. She then wraps her little arms around my neck and holds on for dear life saying "good morning momma." ahhhh.... a big smile wipes across my whole face and for a few moments I think to myself, if we only could stay this way forever.... Reality? haha no. But for those split seconds of time before we ramble through 3 different pairs of cloths, 10 different shoes and or color, run to the kitchen for a quick breakfast, then off to brush those teefe's and rush out the door before 7:15..... I have to stop and PRAISE the Lord for my busy and overwhelmed life that have these precious and priceless moments overflowing within it. Three years ago, I never would have imagined my life would become this full. My cup is OVERFLOWING WITH PRAISES. Don't get me wrong, my days are consumed with studying, work, errands to run, To-do lists, and running around like a chicken with my head cut off before Jane Kimmel has to be at gymnastics and dinner needs to be on the table. Pumpkin Pie Dip
1 8 ounce package cream cheese, softened

2 cups powdered sugar

1 (15 oz) can pumpkin pie filling

1 tsp ground cinnamon

1/2 tsp ground ginger

Beat cream cheese and sugar at medium speed with an electric mixer until smooth. Add pie filling, 1 tsp. cinnamon and ginger beating well. Cover and chill 8 hours. Serve with ginger snaps, graham crackers, apples, grapes or pear slices.

This summer was so amazing! I took classes at State, but decided to stay home with Jane Kimmel instead of working. We had so much fun together :). She is growing up so fast and I cherished the time that we got to spend together. We went on all sorts of fun play dates and traveled a lot too. Lewis worked as an intern for Monsanto again this summer, so he was gone on the road a lot. But, that was a small sacrifice for what we benefited from and we are so thankful for his job. Below are the last pictures from our 2010 summer... tear. We went to Hot Springs for our vacation with some of our best friends, Dane and MK! We had a blast. We also went out on the boat, golfed, played in the baby pool, planted flowers, and Jane Kimmel went to TN one weekend to see Woody's parents! They also did some peach pickin. The Woodson's grow the BEST peaches known to man. Enjoy the pictures!!

Homemade Peach Cobbler? Yes, Please!

Fresh peaches sliced and drained are a good start :)

yum...

Add 2 cups of sugar and 1 stick of butter

Instead of pie crust, I used white flour tortillas for the crust. It is easier, cheaper, and less calories!

Combine all ingredients into a bowl and cover with slices of the tortilla for the crust

Wa La!!!!

This is easy, yummy, and takes about 45 min on 350!

A Voice in the Wind....

Ahhhhh... "A Voice in the Wind," by Francine Rivers, is by far one of the best books I have ever read. I just finished it today and through many tears of joy, conviction, sadness and thankfulness, I finally made it through. This book is the first of her Mark of the Lion series, which consist of 3 books. I am eagerly awaiting tomorrow morning so I can go to Barnes and Noble and purchase the 2nd one! If you have never read Francine Rivers, please GO NOW and purchase one of her books. I have grown to love her so much and find myself so spiritually lifted while reading her books. You get so wrapped up in her readings, that you will not be able to put it down... trust me! I encourage ALL of you to read this book, but just a little heads up... it is disturbing at times, but really makes you realize Gods grace and mercy. If you find yourself wanting to put it down because you can't handle it, please keep going. I promise you it will be well worth your time!

4th of July Weekend!!

The 4th of July is my favorite Summer Holiday! I love the sun, fireworks, and family gatherings. We had a great time this past weekend. We were busy bees, but enjoyed every minute of it! It started off with Jane Gray and Allan's going away party. Lewis and I told many white lies and spent many weeks planning with Mrs. Jamie and KK on how we were getting the Bledsoe's to Greenwood. The surprise was a SUCCESS! They were completely thrown off, and I know they had a great time seeing their closest friends and family before they head out to California. Here are some pictures! With the wonderful free time I have this summer, outside of classes, I am taking full advantage of play dates with Jane Kimmel! During the semesters, we rarely get to have fun dates besides on the weekend, and that's just not enough time. This week, we went to see Toy Story 3 and also went to feed the ducks! Both were first timers for Jane Kimmel, and I must say she had a BLAST! We really missed DaDa joining in on the fun, but we 're going to take him next time we go :)! Here are some pictures of our play dates! We had such a fun time, and I can't believe she is 2.. umm where did the time go? She is no longer our "little baby." Instead, she is an adventurous toddler that will talk your ear off. It is always something new and exciting with her, and the things she says are just HILARIOUS! My "HANDY MAN"

Lewis and I have been making/selling frames for about two years now! The wood for the frames comes from Shellmound, which is tons of farmland that has been in his family since the 1800's. It is such a beautiful place, and really makes you feel like you are "down in the delta!" The wood came from old tenet houses that had been torn down, so Lewis just got a trailer full and we've been making them ever since. We do any size or color, and I also put my little touch on some of them which look precious in a child's room! Lew is the TALENT, I am just the PR for the work that he does :) Lewis is extremely talented with his hands. Although he might not think so, but HE IS! He does amazing work and is truly my little "handy man." I am so thankful that he enjoys working with his hands, and a definite pro is that I do NOT have to buy frames for our house! I will take more pictures of his upcoming work and post them for you all to look at! Enjoy the pictures and Happy Wednesday!!

So..... Jane Kimmel is growing up WAY to fast. I miss my baby, but we love this toddler stage. She is a happy little thing and minds pretty well (when she wants to). She is obsessed with all Disney movies. She loves 101 Dalmatians, Cinderella, Snow White, Nemo/Neno :), Sleeping Beauty, and anything that involves dress up cloths. She always has bracelets, shoes, and necklaces on. She also loves to be outside! We often go see the horses down the street, which she is amazed by. She likes to ride her 4 wheeler and her car on a day to day bases. The only problem is it is FREEZING outside! Needless to say, we are ready for Spring to arrive! She also loves to read and vacuum... hahaha she is my child! Her aunt moget is her favorite these days, and I do get my feelings hurt a lot :( She always wants aunt moget ( love you sis). Stickers are her new "thing" and they end up on her face a lot thanks to Dada. We love bubble baths and brushing our teeth as well! Jane Kimmel is very active as you can tell and keeps Lewis and I laughing all the time. I love when she talks... you can't make out half of what she is saying but the conversation will go on for at least 5 min (hahaha I think she gets that from me). We are so thankful for our little butter bean. Life Would not be the same without her! Enjoy the new pictures :)

New Addition???

Lately, I have been wanting a new addition to the Buford Clan! Since lew and I are not planning on any babies anytime soon, why not a little puppy!!! Jane Kimmel and I have discussed it, and we are both set on a YES! However, daddy is not. Not to mention, we actually are not allowed to have pets where we live, but since our landlords are so sweet I bet Jane Kimmel could work on them a little bit :) haha. I LOVE St. Bernards! My mom had one a couple of years ago, and his name was Chandler. He was the sweetest and biggest ball of fur ever! Jane Kimmel loves dogs to, but daddy wants a "huntin dawg" (should have known). I hope one just doesn't show up on the front porch :) (hehe). Anyway, here are some precious pictures of St. Bernards!!

Today is our 2 year anniversary!!! It has flown by. It is hard to believe we have been together for almost seven years and have been married for two!! God is so good :) I love you so much Lewis and Happy Anniversary! Here's to many more years together!

In this new year, the Lord has been calling me to run... run... and run. What brought on this erg?? hahaha I am not sure. Yes, of course to feel better about myself and look better as well, but I think he is preparing me for something bigger. Jane Kimmel and I have signed up to run in the Oxford Run for Hope, which benefits children with diabetes and cancer, the Relay for Life, which also goes to cancer patients, and the March of dimes. Running has become my quiet time with God and a little "me" time. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed it! I hope to next year be running in the Frost Bite, which is a half marathon here in Starkville. Mrs. Orly Hardin, my boss, mentor, and friend has inspired me to do so :). I am thinking that this is the Lords way of telling me to slow down my busy life and just enjoy something as simple as running. So... for the next few weeks/months, I will be "in training" on my walk with the Lord as well as a 10k! Pray for me and wish me luck!!

For Thanksgiving, we went to Lewis's Aunts in Shellmound, Big Daddy's house in Houston Mississippi, and Lewis's dads at Buford cotton! We had a wonderful weekend! It was so great to see all of our families! We do a lot of traveling on holidays because we both have huge families, but it is worth getting to hug every ones necks :). Lewis and I shared with each other what we were thankful for in our lives on the way to Houston. The Lord could not have had a better plan for our lives. We are so blessed to have each other and a healthy baby. We are thankful for our house, which we are able to go home to each day. Our families and friends, which have gone over and beyond for us and mean the world to us. Our church family, our jobs, the opportunity to go to school and receive an education, our cars for transportation, the amazing food we eat, and lastly we said we are most thankful to be able to worship our God freely. We take advantage of so many things everyday. We get wrapped up in worldly desires and things that most of the time do not matter. Thank you Lord for your wonderful blessing of LIFE. GAME NIGHT!

We love some MSU football!!! It might be a rebuilding season, but we always have a good time when we head out to the Junction! Jane Kimmel loves the games! She shakes her pom pom and rings her cowbell :) She is TRUE Maroon. In the picture below, Lewis won a $6,000 scholarship for writing an essay about the future of Southern Agriculture. We're so proud of him ;)

A couple of weekends ago, we all headed down to Greenwood! The boys enjoyed a long weekend of hunting, while the girls had a fun day shopping downtown! It was nice to get away from Starkville for a few days and just hang out and relax. Here are some pictures of our trip :)

Lewis turned 21 September 15th! I know... I am really late posting these pictures, but better late than never! We had a surprise party for him at Anthonys in West Point. It was delicious! When he walked in, our family and close friends were there to surprise him! He had no idea. :) (hehe, thats because I planned like 2 months in advanced) We had such a great time, and I know Lew enjoyed hanging out with the people he loves the most. Thanks to all of you who made his birthday so special! We love yall!! A fun crew :)

I must say, it has been a LONG TIME since our last post. We have been very busy! School, work, and everyday life has consumed us! We are excited that football season is finally here, and can't wait for Fall to soon follow. Jane Kimmel is talking a lot more now. Her vocabulary consist of every animal you can think of, hey, bye, and shoes! haha she loves shoes.. she gets that from her aunt Moget and her aunt Katie. Lewis and I are still waiting for "mama" and "dada". It seems like the more we practice, the more she does not want to say it. Everything else is good with the Buford Clan. Lewis now has a blog for guiding hunts, so if yall get a chance check it out! It is, http://www.bufordflatsfarms.blogspot.com/. It is pretty neat I must say, and I am so proud of him. We have celebrated Lewis's 21st, been to the State football games, visited Greenwood, and are having a Pumpkin Carving Contest at our house tomorrow! We are very excited about it! Friends and family will be participating and pictures will be up soon, so stay tuned..... :)
